RSVP of the Capital Region is excited to present Lyn “Gram-gram” Clark as our Dauphin County Volunteer of the Month for October. Lyn has been a volunteer with RSVP for 2 years and serves at Steelton Highspire Elementary School where she has donated over 3,000 hours of service to children of the Steelton-Highspire School District.
Lyn is such an inspiration to the children and staff that they affectionately call her Gram-gram”. She spends most of her time working with children from first to third grade but she spearheaded the coordination of a gardening project between Kindergarten students, the seventh grade science club, and State Rep Patty Kim that started flowers and vegetables for the school garden as an Earth Day celebration. She also spends time recruiting and managing additional RSVP volunteers to help the children and the school district. Mrs. Clark is as dedicated to student development as paid staff and is always willing to help out wherever she is needed.
RSVP would like to thank Mrs. Lyn “Gram-gram” Clark for her willingness to share her time and talents with our organization in service to the children of/and the Steelton Highspire School District. Thank you, Gram-gram! Your dedication is exemplary and inspiring to all who aspire to help others in the community.
RSVP works with volunteers who are 55 and over to help match their time and talents with volunteer positions in the community. For more information about RSVP and volunteering in Dauphin County please call 717-541-9521 or by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org.
