Scott Brubaker, development coordinator for Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), a part of Senior Corps, laughs after he presents a “check” for $310,758.16 to Lebanon County Comissioner Bill Ames. That is the value of more than 14,000 hours retired and senior volunteers in Lebanon County served from Aug. 1, 2013 to July 31, 2014. Ames joked he was going to put the money toward the county’s pension fund. RSVP is a part of Senior Corps and was established in 1971. The program engages volunteers aged 55 and over in volunteer positions that have a positive impact on their community.
