Lower Dauphin Family Day Summer Science Program Wrap Up

RSVP of the Capital (RSVP), is hosting a Family Day to recognize the completion of the 2016 Summer Science Program at Lower Dauphin Middle School. Students, families and members of the Lower Dauphin community are invited to join this celebration.

York RSVP Volunteer Recognition Night, August 23

Revolution LogoYork County RSVP volunteers are entitled to one free game ticket*. Join your fellow volunteers on August 23 to see the York Revolution vs the Sugar Land Skeeters. Gates open 5:30pm, game time 6:30pm. Watch the Bug Lady (Donna Watkins) throw out the first pitch at 6:10pm.

Discounted tickets for $4 each* may be purchased by: Families and Friends of Volunteers; RSVP Board Members; RSVP Staff; Station Volunteer Coordinators. Tickets must be reserved by Friday, August 19. *All free and discounted tickets must be acquired from RSVP. They are NOT available from the Revolution’s box office.

June York County Volunteer of the Month–Howard Powell

The RSVP volunteer of the month for June is Howard Powell. Howard has been a volunteer tutor at Hanover Street Elementary School for the past two years. He tutors first, second, third, and fourth graders with reading, English, spelling, and computer skills.

Howard PowellHe is known as Mr. Howard to the students he tutors. He tutors three days a week at the school.

Howard lives with his wife in Dover, Pennsylvania and has thirty five years of IT experience. He worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital  and at the Harford County Public Library as the Computer Support Manager for fifteen years.

His hobbies include reading, football, stock car racing and going to the movies.

CNCS TutorRSVP of the Capital Region-York County is seeking volunteer tutors in math or reading for Hanover Street Elementary School, Clearview Elementary School, or Washington Elementary School.
